DrSCADA Automation - from Wellhead to Pipeline & Beyond
Here is a staff training video from Chick-Fil-A, a fast food outlet in the USA. Do you think this kind of training helps staff
consider their customers as real people, who deserve care and concern, instead of viewing them as an inconvenience to
their day?
In our culture, it is easy to think that what we can see and touch is all that
there is. Our training in some topics seems to say if you can't see it, or touch
it, or measure it, then it is a figment of your imagination. We can look at a
forest, and be impressed with the gigantic trees that have been there for
centuries. But one small spark can start a raging forest fire that turns it all to
ashes, and then what is left of what we were so impressed with?
If you knew that the richest person in all the world - who also lived so that he
deserved respect and appreciation - was coming to visit the place where you
work, and would be there for a month on a staffing search for an assistant,
would you be interested in meeting the qualifications? So then think about
this - the richest, most powerful Being in all the world is continually searching
the entire world, to find people whose heart is right toward Him, so He can
show that He is strong, and on their side. Is it worth being on the right side in
His assessment? I think being on the wrong side may be penny wise today,
but I guarantee you it is pound foolish.
Read the story of the advisor who had the gall to point out this truth as a
corrective measure, to the top national leader who had the power of life and
death over his people, and who threw the advisor in jail for his pains - 2
Chronicles 16:9. Don't stop reading there, move over to the gospel of John in
the New Testament, and go on from there.
"Faith is the great cop-out, the great
excuse to avoid the need to think and
evaluate evidence." So says Richard
Dawkins. He is right that avoiding the
evaluation of evidence is a problem,
but it seems he cannot recognize
that an honest inquirer must consider
ALL the evidence, not merely carefully
selected evidence sets, crafted as
fodder for those who don't bother to
think outside their party line.
